With deep, abiding sadness, the Chestertown VFC announces the passing of Theodore "Ted" Landskroener. Mr. Ted was a Life Member of long-standing, going back to the 1960's. He served a number of terms on our Board of Directors. Some of those terms included milestones such as new apparatus purchases. At Board meetings or Regular Company meetings, his counsel and opinions were highly regarded and respected. He was also instrumental in the success of our BINGO program in the 1980's. Our BINGO program has since been discontinued. Mr. Ted was an influential member of the Maryland State Fire Prevention Commission. The Commission is empowered to hear appeals filed by those who are aggrieved by an order or decision of the State Fire Marshal or his designee in the course of enforcing the State Fire Prevention Code. The Commission is also empowered to promulgate, amend, and repeal regulations for the safeguarding of life and property from the hazards of fire and explosion. He was also active with promoting the business and goals of the Maryland State Firemen's Association.
The officers and members of the Chestertown VFC take this opportunity to express our sincere sadness and condolences to the family and friends for their loss.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company. Our mailing address is P.O. Box 296, Chestertown, Maryland 21620.
Due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic health emergency, the family will hold a memorial gathering at a later date.
