At 10:28 am on Friday, May 8, 2020, the Chestertown VFC was dispatched to the "Electrical Hazard" on Chestertown Road (Maryland 20) and Mount Hope Road. While responding to the incident, Law Enforcement requested EMS to evaluate one patient. Consequently, the incident was then dispatched as the Motor Vehicle Collision with Injuries. In addition to Chestertown VFC, this added the Kent & Queen Annes Rescue Squad to the incident.
Engine 6 (Chestertown VFC) arrived to find a single vehicle Motor Vehicle Collision involving a Utility Pole. The pole had been completely severed with wires down. Chestertown Road (Maryland 20) was completely blocked, thus closing the road. With the arrival of EMS, the driver of the vehicle was evaluated. The patient was found to have minor injuries and subsequently refused treatment and transportation to a medical facility.
