Public Announcement – Starting on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, and continuing at least through Friday, September 5, 2025, the entire parking lot of the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company will be completely closed. Contractors from Bramble’s will be on-site completing a much needed complete rebuild and upgrade of our parking lot. The parking lot and associated features are more then 45 years old, dating from when we moved into this facility in 1979.
This project has been under discussion for a few years. We take this opportunity to thank the community for your donations. This project is 100% funded by the Chestertown VFC, thanks to your generous donations. This work will benefit our members, our operations, and contribute to the comfort and convenience of those leasing our public assembly “Main Hall”.
This project includes an expansion of available parking, a realignment of the entire parking lot, new curbs, new pavement, and line striping and markings for handicap spaces and regular parking.
We also realize that many local motorists will use our parking light to “Beat the Traffic Light”, a practice we discourage, but really can’t prevent. Please be aware, the ability to use our parking lot to skip the light will not be available for at least a week.
