On Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at approximately 1041 hours, the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company was dispatched to assist the Rock Hall Volunteer Fire Company and other mutual aid companies with a condominium fire in the 20500 block of Rock Hall Avenue.
Rock Hall Fire & EMS units arrived to find smoke showing from all three floors of a three-story, end-unit condominium. Rock Hall’s initial interior crew quickly initiated an aggressive interior attack, resulting in a quick knockdown and helping prevent further extension of the fire.
Due to the location of the incident and the distance from additional fire resources, a Second Alarm was requested to bring additional apparatus and personnel to the scene. Fire boats from Queen Anne’s County were also requested to provide an additional water supply should the fire require more water than could be supported by the domestic water system.
Tower 6 and Squad 6 responded from Chestertown and assisted with fire attack, primary and secondary searches, salvage, and overhaul operations.
Chestertown units remained on location until approximately 1330 hours, when they were released by Command.
A special thank you to the Queenstown Volunteer Fire Company and Sudlersville Volunteer Fire Company for providing fill-in apparatus and coverage while Chestertown units operated on the incident.
