On Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at 3:03 pm, the Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company, Kent & Queen Annes Rescue Squad, Kent County EMS, Kennedyville VFC, and the Crumpton VFC was dispatched for the Motor Vehicle Crash with Hazmat (Hazardous Materials), on Morgnec Road (Maryland 291) at the bridge over Morgnec Creek. Locally, the bridge is known as the “Blue Bridge”, because of its color.

It is with deep, profound, and abiding sadness, the Chestertown VFC announces the untimely passing of long-time, Life Member Darlene Neal on Saturday, January 27, 2024… late in the evening. She had been in Mercy Hospital on the western shore, struggling to overcome cancer when complications set in.

With deep, abiding sadness, the officers and members of the Chestertown VFC regretfully announce the untimely passing of Life Member Calvin “Cappy” Patrick. Cappy was a long-time member of the Chestertown VFC family. He started his journey with us as a Junior Firefighter in 1962.

The Chestertown Volunteer Fire Company is excited to announce, through the generosity of AFG (Assistance to Firefighters Grant) process, we recently placed into service 28 new SCBA, a.k.a., Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus. We also purchased outright 2 additional SCBA, for a total of 30 new units. This new equipment has updated and improved features, making them easier and more convenient to use.
